Summer Babysitting

Once spring break is over summer tends to get here fast and for those of you staying in the city working at an unpaid internship, it can be daunting to try and figure out how to support yourself. Luckily the Babysitting Agency remains open throughout the entire summer. We continue to post both sporadic and regular jobs, so whether you need to earn a little extra every once in a while or want to nanny full-time, you can find something to suit your schedule. For those of you that want to get out of the city, plenty of parents post jobs in the Hamptons or other vacation spots.

For those of you seeking prime regular jobs, it's best to start looking in mid-April. We have already started receiving summer postings and it's great to start early if you can, but we won't have a full range of listings until closer to the summer. It's also good to remember that kids don't start their summer vacation until June, so parents often wait until nearer that time to post jobs.

A full list of summer job binders and explanations can be found on the bulletin board outside our office,.

Babysitting Over Winter Break

Want to babysit over Winter Break? Start looking for a job now! Students who have already confirmed jobs that take place over winter break are permitted to stay in housing. In order to gain Reslife approval, babysitters will need to let the agency know their name and the family(s) they are babysitting for. They will also need to fill out the winter break request form available here.

Starting at the end of November we will begin taking down names of babysitters who are working over break, so that we can provide reslife a list of approved students. Sitters will need to hand in a request form to Reslife in order to be granted housing, the Agency only provides the documentation needed forReslife to approve the request.

**Please note that Reslife has implemented a $100 fee for students staying over the winter break. The Babysitting Agency does not subsidize this fee. Any babysitter staying in the dorms over break will be charged $100 by Barnard.
